About John
John has worked professionally as an illustrator, concept artist, game designer, writer, and educator. Fuelled by his passion for stories and art, John puts storytelling at the forefront of his work, using his skills to bring characters, worlds, and journeys to life.
His latest work on the Heaven: The Graphic Novel Series brings to life the collaborative efforts and imaginings of John and writer Alan Hancock.
A stock standard nerd, John enjoys divulging into all areas of fantasy and sci-fi, whether that is reading novels and comics, playing games, or watching the silver screen. Of course, he must still stick to his country and farm boy routes and spends any spare time he can out in the bush or at the beach.
In 2019 John graduated Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Arts: Major in Game Art & Design, Major in Sound, and Minor in Creative Writing. John has a Master of Creative Media (Research) with his research focusing on creative methodology, multidisciplinary communication, and representation and adaption within transmedia experiences. His current research investigates participatory culture within shared game world spaces and how artefacts (seen as active entities within collaboration) influence creative methodology and design.
